Note: Most of the information published about the San Carlos Borroméo de Carmelo Mission considers June 3, 1770 as the date it was established. However the publishers of the official website consider August 24, 1771, after the buildings were finished and Father Serra moved into the mission, as the date of establishment. If you have any questions, please check with your teacher or a librarian.
